Stephen Masley, M.D., is an award-winning physician, nutritionist, author, speaker, and patient educator. He devoted his medical career to the study of heart disease and aging, and published important research on these topics in leading medical journals. His passion is to empower people to achieve optimal health through comprehensive medical assessments and lifestyle changes.
Dr. Masley has received fellowship awards from three prestigious organizations: the American Heart Association, the American College of Nutrition, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of South Florida, and teaches programs at Eckerd College and the University of Tampa.
In 2010, he was awarded the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Healthcare Hero Physician Award, in addition to receiving numerous awards for his lifestyle research. Dr. Masley sees patients from all over North America at Masley Optimal Health Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Masley has published numerous scientific articles and several health books, including The 30 Day Heart Tune-Up, Ten Years Younger, and his most recent creation, SMART FAT.
His work has appeared on the Discovery Channel, the Today Show, and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), as well as in more than 250 media interviews. He also completed chef training at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Seattle, Washington, and has performed cooking demonstrations at Canyon Ranch, the Pritikin Longevity Center, and in numerous television appearances.
As a speaker during his career, Dr. Masley has spoken at more than 300 continuing medical education (CME) events for physicians, and for more than 700 public presentations on a variety of topics related to health, aging, and cardiovascular disease.
