$73.8 million: Series B for a SARM1 inhibitor to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
Nura Bio announced the completion of a $73.8 million Series B financing and the development of two clinical-stage SARM1 inhibitor programs. Proceeds will fund development of Nura Bio’s clinical pipeline, including a Phase 1b/2a study of NB-4746, an oral, brain-penetrating SARM1 inhibitor, which recently began dosing in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients. NB-4746 has been shown to prevent SARM1-induced axonal degeneration, providing neuroprotection in multiple preclinical models of nerve injury and disease, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. In a phase 1 study in healthy volunteers, NB-4746 demonstrated a favorable safety profile and achieved target plasma and cerebrospinal fluid exposure levels. press release.

Handspring has secured $19 million in Series B funding to grow its physician workforce, expand value-based care partnerships with payers, and expand its geographic reach. The health organization offers a virtual mental health clinic for youth and families, specifically designed for evidence-based care, training and ongoing support for clinicians. Handspring doctors treat children and teens ages 8 to 17, as well as young adults ages 18 to 26. Doctors are trained to treat anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, and other mental health challenges. The model of care also includes ongoing training and support for parents who are seen as an essential part of the treatment process.
