If you’ve heard of the third eye chakra, you probably already realize that this chakra relates to a sense of spirituality and the ability to see beyond everyday life. But you may not understand the nuances of this powerful chakra, which includes your creativity, imagination, ability to listen to your inner guidance system, and trust your intuition. Becoming more in tune with your third eye chakra through Yin Yoga can help you feel more empowered to make the right decisions for yourself.
The subject of the third eye chakra, or anyit’s all about the bigger picture. It supports alignment with your purpose rather than behaving in a certain way that others expect of you. The third eye chakra asks you to be clear with yourself, rather than getting caught up in the noise and confusion of everyday life, including the people around you telling you what you should and shouldn’t do.
When you tap into the third eye chakra, you become better able to shut out the rest of the world and listen to your inner voice. What does he want for you? What does your higher self want for you?
You can also expect enhanced creativity, increased intuition, and perhaps even sparked enhanced imagination. The following yin yoga for the third eye practice is designed to help support this chakra and, by extension, all of the above.
I always recommend keeping a journal, notebook, or pen and paper near you during any chakra practice, so that you can write down any thoughts that reveal themselves to you, both during and after the practice. I like to pair yin yoga poses with affirmations. So, for every pose you practice during your yin yoga for third eye chakra routine, I will share an affirmation with you. All you have to do is listen and repeat it silently to yourself several times and notice how you feel in response to the words.
A reminder that in Yin Yoga, you do not want to use any kind of muscular effort or force. You’re looking to create a look in which you find your edge – you want to feel some sense but not push the boundaries of what’s acceptable. There is no need to force stretching. You want to let gravity do the work for you.

I ask you to use props in some poses. A pair of blocks, pillows, or folded blankets will work well. Simply keep it somewhere close to you. Let’s get started!
Centering

Raise your awareness to Your sense of intuitionYour imagination, your goal. In what ways would you like to grow or develop? Do you feel like you are in touch with your intuition? Simply be curious rather than searching for answers.
Breathing exercise

This is it Nadi Shodhana or alternate nose breathing It is meant to clear the cobwebs from the mind and help us find balance internally, which in turn allows us to think more clearly to see the bigger picture.
Keep your eyes closed if that’s comfortable for you and lengthen your spine. Bend the index and middle fingers of your right hand and keep the thumb, ring, and pinky fingers straight. Place your thumb over your right nostril to close it. Then inhale through your left nostril for a count of four, five, or six. At the top of this inhale, close your left nostril with your pinky finger and release your right nostril while exhaling for the same count of four, five, or six. Then inhale through the right for the same count, close it, then exhale through the left. Then repeat at your own pace for about eight rounds.
After the final exhalation, return to your normal breathing rhythm.
Child’s position

Make your way to Child’s positionEither with your knees together or apart. Since our focus is on the third eye, you will place your forehead directly on the mat or support. Release your arms alongside your body, with the palms facing up. Allow your shoulders to stabilize and your stomach to be soft as you connect your third eye to the floor.
Say to yourself: I am connected to my purpose. I am connected to my purpose.
When you’re ready, place your arms straight out in front of you, press into your fingertips, and then slowly lift, inch by inch.
Half butterfly

Come and sit and extend your right leg in front of you. Bend your left knee and bring the sole of your left foot to the inside of your right thigh. You’ll get into a forward sitting position, which is a variation of the pose known as Move into Knee Pose or Janu Sirsasana.
While keeping the focus on the third eye, you want the forehead to rest on something so there is gentle pressure. Depending on how far you lean forward, you may need one or two blocks in front of you to lean on. Let your head be heavy and rest your third eye either on the block or your hands stacked on top of the block. It is perfectly fine to leave your back rounded like this. So allow yourself to completely relax and imagine breathing directly into the third eye space.
Say to yourself: My intuition always guides me. My intuition always guides me.
When you’re ready to come out of the pose, push your hands into the floor and slowly lift yourself up, inch by inch. Keep your breathing slow and steady and switch sides. You may have one side narrower than the other, this is very normal. Just ease your way into it as slowly as you need.
Say to yourself: I have all the answers inside me. I have all the answers inside me.
Place your feet flat on the floor with your knees bent and let them drop from side to side, freeing your lower back from those forward folds.
Supported crocodile position

This next pose is shoulder assist. So place both blocks in front of you on your mat on the first or second level. You’re not trying to force the stretch too much, you’re just stabilizing it here. Lie on your stomach with the blocks under the front of your shoulders so that the blocks support your shoulders. You want your forehead to rest on the mat. I prefer to have my arms extended by my side, palms facing up. Breathe into your upper back.
Say to yourself: My spiritual vision is clear. My spiritual vision is clear.
Savasana

Ease your way out of the pose and slowly flip onto your back. So allow yourself to take up some space and get real rest here Savasanausing props if you want even though they’re not needed. Allow yourself to take these last minutes of rest and relaxation.
Say to yourself: I see the bigger picture and trust my inner wisdom. I see the bigger picture and trust my inner wisdom.
closing

When you are ready, begin to rise from this rest and breathe more slowly. Do any movements that feel comfortable. You can roll to one side and sit up and close your eyes once you’re there. Notice how you feel now, compared to how you felt when you first stepped on your mat. Stay here for several moments. Maybe notice if a particular affirmation resonates with you or jot some notes in your journal before returning to your day.
