It’s no secret that yoga can help you find greater balance in your body and mind, especially when practiced regularly. However, when life gets busy, setting aside an hour to practice, whether in a studio or at home, is not always possible. Over time, missing yoga can lead to frustration.
But what if, instead of giving up on building a consistent practice due to time constraints, you simply practiced less? This 15-minute yoga flow is perfect for those days when you don’t have access to a studio or gym but still want to stretch, move, and remember what it feels like to self-pace.
15-minute yoga routine for busy people
This 15-minute yoga routine includes gentle stretching, strength-building poses, and deep breathing to help relieve stress and improve your balance and mood. There are many different formats available so you can adapt the practice to your needs.
Whether you’re starting your morning, taking a midday break, or relaxing in the evening, a quick, feel-good yoga flow will help you feel reorganized and energized in just minutes.

1. Child’s position
Come to your hands and knees on the mat. Lower your hips toward your heels. Straighten your arms and lower your forehead to the mat or block Child’s position. As you exhale, let your body relax toward the mat. Take a few breaths here.

2. Cow cat
Come to your hands and knees. Inhale as you lower your belly toward the mat and lift your chest, looking inward Cow pose. Exhale as you press your palms into the mat, round your back, and pull your chin toward your chest. Cat pose. Repeat the cow and the cat again.

3. Toe squat
From your hands and knees, bend your toes, then lower your hips toward your heels, and step back with your hands until you are sitting on your heels Toe squat. If the stretch along the bottom of your feet is too intense, you can keep your hands on the mat to help reduce the stretch. Take some breaths here.

4. Chaturanga below the knees
Get back to your hands and knees. Walk your knees a few inches behind your hips, bend your elbows, hug your arms toward your ribs, and then slowly lower your chest toward the mat with your knees down Chaturanga. Finish by pressing your palms into the mat and pointing your elbows toward the wall behind you.

5. Cobra or upward facing dog
Press your hands and the tops of your feet into the mat while lifting your chest any amount Snake pose. Or you can also lift your thighs off the mat Upward-facing dog.

6. Downward facing dog
Press your hands into the mat and push your hips back to return to your hands and knees. Tuck your toes and move your hips up and back Downward facing dog. Take some deep breaths here.

7. Stand Forward Bend
From Down Dog, walk your feet forward toward your hands and bring them together or hip-distance apart Standing forward bend. Relax your head and neck. Take two breaths here.

8. Lunge high or low
Place your hands on either side of your right foot. Step your left foot back and plant the ball of your left foot into the mat. Reach your arms at the top High rush Or lower your left knee to the mat Low impulsion. Take some breaths here.

9. Plank
Place your hands on either side of your right foot. Press your hands into the mat as you step your right foot back to meet your left foot Wave.
Repeats Knees down Chaturanga, Cobra or Upward dog, Downward dogand Standing forward bend. Come in Rush high or low On the left side.
Then step your right foot to meet your left to stand at the top of the mat.

10. Swivel chair position
Bring your hands together in front of your chest in a prayer position (anjali mudra). Bend your knees as if you are about to sit down Chair position. Take a breath here.
Twist your chest to the right into a swivel chair position. If comfortable, brace your left elbow on the outside of your right thigh. Take a few breaths here, then return to center and repeat on the other side. Return to center and end standing at the top of the mat.
Either return to Downward Dog or take a vinyasa through the entry Standing forward bend. Repeats Wave, Knees down Chaturanga, Cobraand Downward dog.

11. A three-legged dog
From Downward Dog, raise your right leg behind you into Three-Legged Dog position.

12. Plank from knee to elbow
From Three-Legged Dog, shift some of your weight forward into your hands as you pull your right knee toward your right elbow. Stay here or bring your right knee toward your left elbow. Then go back to the three-legged dog.

13. Spin rush
From Three-Legged Dog, step your right foot forward and raise your arms above your head in a High Lunge. Bring your hands into a prayer position and move your chest to the right in the Revolved Lunge. If comfortable, brace your left elbow on your outside right thigh. Take some breaths here.
Keeping your right knee bent and your upper body twisted to the right, move your left foot to meet your right foot in a swivel chair pose. Breathe in here, straighten your legs and come back to center.
Extend your arms up and step in Standing forward bend. Come in Downward facing dogThen raise your left leg inward behind you Three-legged dog.
Repeats Plank from knee to elbowrounded dash, and Swivel chair position On the other side. End stand at the top of the mat.

14. Windshield wipers
Sit with your knees bent and your feet on the mat. Place your hands behind you and lean back slightly. Lower your knees towards the right side, then the left side into the windshield wipers. Repeat several times on each side.

15. Restricted angle position
Bring the soles of your feet together and place your hands on your thighs, calves, or ankles. Reach your chest forward toward your feet Restricted angle position. Relax your head and neck. Take some deep breaths here.

16. Fire log status
From Bound Angle Pose, cross your right foot over your left knee and align your legs so that your legs are stacked on top of each other in Fire Log Pose. Stay here or reach your chest forward over your legs. Take a few breaths here, then return to an upright position. Repeat on the other side (with your left leg on top).

17. Closing
To finish this practice, assume a comfortable sitting position. You may place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. Ask yourself: “What have I learned about what I need to support me throughout the rest of my day?” Notice what follows.
