Catherine R. Ayers, Ph.D., ABPP

Katherine Ayers, PhD, ABPP, has a dual appointment at VA San Diego Healthcare System as Division Director of La Jolla Outpatient Mental Health Clinics and UC San Diego as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UC San Diego. Dr. Ayers is also a faculty member in the joint SDSU/UCSD doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Ayers’ research program focuses on the treatment and neuropsychological characterization of anxiety and hoarding disorders. Her research on the psychotherapy of hoarding disorder has been funded by the International OCD Foundation and the Veterans Health Administration. Dr. Ayers has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and more than a dozen book chapters on hoarding and anxiety disorder across the lifespan.
