Alison Alden, Ph.D. – Anxiety Disorders and Holistic Healthcare


Allison Alden, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist at The Anxiety Treatment Center of Greater Chicago. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for both children and adults, and enjoys working with patients suffering from all types of anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders. She meets regularly with patients outside of the office to help them deal with anxiety when it occurs and gain confidence in real-life situations. As part of the treatment team, she also provides short-term intensive individual therapy for severe cases, meeting with patients up to 6 days a week.

Dr. Alden holds a Ph.D. She earned her doctorate from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she focused on research and treatment of anxiety. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She has extensive training and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders, and incorporates mindfulness and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) into her practice. Dr. Alden has published numerous research articles and book chapters on anxiety, depression, and emotion regulation, and has presented lectures and posters to state and national professional organizations. She also taught at Northwestern University’s School of Continuing Studies. Dr. Alden is a member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), and received the ADAA Highly Competitive Young Leadership Award in 2014.
