(Natural Health365) Did you know that more than 150 symptoms can indicate Lyme disease? This health problem currently affects over 300,000 people annually, and the numbers continue to rise.
To make matters worse, this disease is difficult to diagnose – especially for traditionally trained doctors, and in many cases, treatments from Western medicine do not help.
Today, on the NaturalHealth365 Podcast, we’ll clearly define Lyme disease, talk about the co-infections associated with this condition, and explore the many ways to treat this condition – so you can make an informed decision about your health.

Lyme disease is a growing health threat
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
“Each year, approximately 30,000 cases of Lyme disease are reported to the CDC by state health departments and the District of Columbia. However, this number does not reflect every case of Lyme disease diagnosed in the United States each year.
Surveillance systems provide vital information but do not catch all diseases. Because only a small fraction of diseases are reported, researchers need to estimate the total burden of disease to set public health goals, allocate resources, and measure the economic impact of disease. CDC uses the best available data and makes reasonable adjustments – based on relevant data, results of previous studies, and common assumptions – to account for missing pieces of information.
translation? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has inaccurate numbers, and in reality, millions of people have Lyme disease — many of them walking around undiagnosed, and a weakened immune system could put you at risk.
So, bottom line, take some time (now) to learn as much as you can about how to improve your immune system naturally and avoid the threats posed by this serious health issue.

About Kathy Heidemann, NP, L.Ac.
Cathy Heidemann is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She realized early in her career that although our (conventional) treatment system for medicine and disease had much to offer, it was limited and many patients continued to become ill after standard treatment options had been exhausted.
Since then, she has actively sought to add safe, complementary and alternative (CAM) and integrative options to her practice. She studied herbalism with Rosemary Gladstar in the 1990s, and in 2011 she became licensed in acupuncture. She incorporates acupuncture and related modalities (cupping, gua sha) into her practice.
