You know that frustrating feeling when your body doesn’t move the way you want it to? You feel stiff. narrow. related. It may be difficult to stand after sitting or climbing stairs without feeling discomfort or discomfort. You may assume that this sensation is caused by hours spent working at your desk or on your feet. Or maybe you don’t know WaExactly, he is the one who causes it. You just know that you don’t feel good in your body.
The discomfort that many people assume is “back pain” or “weak knees” often starts in the hips and hamstrings. When your hip muscles remain tight, other parts of your body need to compensate. Tight hamstrings pull on your pelvis, changing the way your entire body moves and feels. Everything is connected, you can’t fully address one without taking care of the other.
The next step to feeling better in your body isn’t to overcome pain or accept “stiffness” as a baseline. Instead, take a few minutes out of your day to practice yoga to heal tight hips and hamstrings, which slowly stretches often-overlooked lower-body muscles, so you feel more supported—and less restricted—all day long.
20-minute yoga to treat tight hips and hamstrings
This practice does not require you to be flexible or “advanced” in yoga. It just asks you to move intentionally so you can start giving your hips and hamstrings the rest they need.

1. Reclining restricted angle position
Lie on your back on the mat. Bring the soles of your feet together and let your knees fall to the sides Reclined restricted angle position. Place your hands on your body. Take a deep breath.

2. Knee circles
Draw your knees toward your chest and place your hands on your knees or behind your thighs. Draw a few circles with your knees in one direction, then switch directions.

3. Spinal curvature with knees bent
With your knees pulled toward your chest, lower them toward your left side into a Supine Spinal Twist. Keep your shoulders on the mat. Take a few breaths here, then return to center and repeat on the right side.

4. Hamstring stretch
Still lying on your back, bend your knees and plant your feet on the mat. Straighten your right leg and reach your foot toward the ceiling (keeping your knee slightly bent). 8. Happy child

9. Reclining Forward Bend
From Happy Baby, straighten your legs and reach your heels toward the ceiling. Keeping your lower back on the mat, gently pull your legs toward you into the Reclining Forward Bend position.

10. Happy half child
From the Reclining Forward Bend, bend your legs and pull your knees toward your armpits in the Happy Baby exercise. Lower your right foot to the mat in Half Happy Baby. Stay here or for a more intense stretch, straighten your right leg on the mat.
Bring your legs back into Happy Baby, then lower your left foot onto the mat or straighten your left leg into Half Happy Baby position on the other side.
Pull your knees toward your chest and rock back and forth on your back several times before getting into a sitting position on the mat.

11. Sit Forward Bend
Sit tall on the mat with your legs straight out in front of you. Hinge from your hips and reach your chest forward over your legs inward Sitting forward bend. Keep your knees slightly bent if that’s more comfortable. Place your hands on your legs or hold your feet. Take a few breaths here, then slowly lift.

12. Cross-legged front pleat
Still seated, cross your legs, walk your hands forward onto the mat, and then relax your upper body on your legs. Take a few breaths here, then slowly lift.

13. Lizard pose
Come to your hands and knees on the mat. Step your right foot forward outside your right hand. Place your back knee behind you and move your hips forward into lizard pose. Take some breaths here.

14. Half splits
From lizard pose, pull your hips back over your left knee while straightening your right leg. Place your hands on the mat or on the blocks on either side of your right leg. Fold your chest forward over your right leg into Half Splits. If it’s comfortable, push your hands forward slightly. Take some breaths here.
Bend your right knee, move your hips forward, and return to lizard pose.

15. Pigeon position
From Lizard Pose, pull your right knee forward behind your right wrist and pin it to the mat. Straighten your left leg behind you Dove pose. Take some breaths here.

16. Downward facing dog

18. Squat
Bend your knees and lower your hips toward the space between your heels Squatting. Bring your hands into a prayer position (anjali mudra) in front of your chest. Gently press your elbows into your inner thighs. Take a few breaths here, then come into a sitting position on the mat.

19. Restricted angle position
Draw the soles of your feet together. Extend your chest forward as you walk your hands on the mat in front of you. Rotate your spine over your legs and let your head and neck relax Restricted angle position. Take a few breaths here, then slowly lift.
