Yes, Whistler’s perfect days and unparalleled terrain provide some of the best skiing on the planet. You should try it. But summer? amazing.
As the snow melts, the adventure hatch opens to reveal a snow-sculpted landscape that invites movement and stillness, where high-alpine ridgelines, glassy lakes, rushing rivers and a lively pedestrian village lie so close together you’ll want to enjoy them. Do everything. Just give yourself plenty of time to do more of everything: more trails, more river floats, more lake dips, more pure mountain life.

Get vertical first. The PEAK 2 PEAK gondola connects the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains with stunning views of glaciers, forests and skies, providing fast and scenic access to stunning alpine terrain. From the top, more than 30 miles of trails extend—everything from quiet loops like Lake Harmony to exposed trails like the 5.8-mile High Knot Trail, rich in wildflowers and crystal tar. Wherever you wander, plan to enjoy a view of Black Tusk’s dark lava tower with the glacier-capped Garibaldi Volcano looming beyond.

After you head up the mountain, get ready to enjoy two-wheeling at Whistler Mountain Bike Park. More than 120 lift routes cater to riders of all abilities, from flowing hurdles to professional jump lines. Rent a downhill spot in the village, load your bike onto the lift, and you’ll be riding within minutes. Now make it a true multi-sport haven with a rafting trip and discover the trains of white waves that rock the nearby Elaho and Squamish Rivers.
There’s another relaxing side to Whistler’s abundant waters. All the lakes provide the perfect coastal getaway for golden evenings and sunset strolls. At Lost Lake, locals enjoy a quick swim between trips, while Alta Lake offers watercraft rentals – put a morning SUP session on your itinerary. The Valley Trail network connects everything, making it easy to link together to the bike.

Outside the core, the surrounding Coast Mountains surround the raw wilderness that gives Whistler its edge. A short drive leads to waterfalls and provincial parks where the crowds thin as they grow in size. Brandywine Falls offers a quick reward—a 230-foot cascade into a volcanic valley—while Garibaldi Provincial Park rewards greater efforts with glacier-fed lakes and long, peaceful miles (try Panorama Point, or make the grand push to the base of Black Tusk). Experienced hiking guides are readily available and can take you to special spots; Either way, in any direction, you can enjoy rural bliss.
But the village itself invites everyone to return. Throughout the summer, Whistler Village buzzes with energy—from free outdoor concerts and lively patios to seasonal events like the Nourish Whistler Wellness Series (through June) and Crankworx (July 24-August 2)—along with a dining scene that ranges from casual post-flight dining to upscale. Enjoy the day’s adventure with pastries from Purebread and finish with oysters from Araxi or appetizers at Bar Oso.

Track or bar, what really sets Whistler apart is the community. Sure, Canadians are friendly, but you’ll also be joining a lively international group all enjoying their best day ever. Whether you’re chasing adrenaline in the morning, seeking tranquility in the afternoon, or enjoying the evening in the village, you’ll be doing so with friends old and new.
